01/The Experience
“A family is never quite the same from one season to the next. There’s beauty in the changing seasons of family life. In the people we are today, the people we were yesterday & the stories that continue to shape us.”
The Art of Being Together.
Every family has its own rhythm, personalities & ways of connecting. My approach brings together thoughtful direction, an appreciation for beautiful light, and the freedom to simply enjoy being together.
After nearly two decades behind the camera and raising four children of my own, I know how meaningful it is to have photographs that celebrate both the beautifully composed and the wonderfully unexpected.
Creating Space for Connection.
Creating space for those connections is such an important part of the experience. There is thoughtful direction when it’s needed, beautiful light, an understanding of composition and just as much room for movement, laughter, curiosity & the wonderment of the time together.
From the Very Beginning.
There is something extraordinary about watching a family grow. The anticipation of welcoming someone new, the transformation of two people becoming parents, and the beautiful way an entire household begins to change.
From maternity and those first days at home to the little milestones that seem to arrive all at once, I love documenting this season for everything it holds. Not just how much a baby grows, but how a family grows together.
Along the Coastline.
The Delaware Beaches have a way of becoming part of a family’s story. Summer traditions, familiar stretches of shoreline, little feet in the sand & evenings spent together by the water.
After years of photographing families along the coast, I’ve come to know how much the location, changing light, tides & seasons can shape a session. From finding a quieter stretch of beach to choosing the right time of day, those little considerations make all the difference.
Whether this is where you call home or a place your family returns to year after year, there’s something special about making photographs somewhere that already means so much to you.
The People Who Make Us.
Some of my favorite photographs bring together the people who have known us through so many different chapters of life.
Grandparents with grandchildren, grown siblings together again, cousins running in every direction, and the wonderful dynamics that come with gathering an entire family in one place.
These sessions are about more than getting everyone into one photograph. They’re an opportunity to celebrate the relationships, family history & connections that stretch across generations.
